VOLUNTEERKarter'sDREAM
Make a single or monthly donation directly from your bank account, credit card, or Paypal.Post it, tweet it, share it. The more people you tell, the more help we can receive.Every dollar can make a difference. Especially when helping out in a developing country. In Guatemala, we purchase a set of bunk beds with mattresses for $180. Many of us spend that on our cable and internet bill each month.
While you can volunteer with us directly, even traveling to provide needy families with beds and supplies, there's much you can do on your own. Contact us to learn more about opportunities and ideas for donating, fundraising, campaigning, buying gifts, and involving your church, group, school or company.
Can't spend a dime?
Then, spend some time... helping us help those in need.We started working in Guatemala in 2015 and Guatemala continues to be a main focus for Karter's Dream. 75% of Guatemala's national population lives below the poverty line with 58% of those having incomes below the extreme poverty line. Many make less than $1 a day to support their entire family. Over half of children in Guatemala have chronic malnutrition. In some areas the rate is as high as 90% and Guatemala continues to have the highest percentage of malnourished children in all of Latin America.
We also work right here at home in the United States. From disaster relief efforts to many of the same programs we provide in Guatemala. We fight hunger and poverty right here in our neighborhoods. We have provided beds to families who have no bed, food to families with no food, as well as supporting our local food pantry as well.
Empty stomachs hurt. They break concentration and make the future seem impossible. Giving food is essential to creating health.
